About Sea Services
Sea Services Inc. has been serving the public since 1996, and before it’s incorporation, under my direction for five years.
In that time, Sea Services has won the attention of the news media, most recently in the New York Daily News, September of 2006. The New York Times ran a full feature article in May of 1998, which sparked a great deal of interest by other publications such as USA Today, Boat US Magazine and Long Island Newsday.
Clearly Sea Services has stood the test of time unlike many others who come and go. Families feel a sense of connection to the funeral homes and service providers that helped them through their time of need. This is especially true when a family wishes to revisit the site of internment or another family member has passed years later, Sea Services is there. People don’t want to think they’ve hired a fly by night business for the internment of their loved one.
Many people ask how I feel about the proliferation of other Burial at Sea web sites, to which I respond, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”, however my concern is the credibility and inexperience of others and the ultimate reflection on the practice of Committing Ashes to the Sea. If you want to spot an imitator, the first place to look is the Authorization Form (for unattended scatterings), this particular form has been copied countless times. Notable People, The Captain’s Service and Family Service are all original terms coined by Sea Services and copied by others.
What sets us apart from the others is our commitment to provide comprehensive information, including options free to veterans and their descendents, and reliable service. If we are not in the office, our operators will relay your message and contact us privately in case of an emergency. Your questions and concerns are always addressed with honesty and candor, as you need to know what to expect while out at sea. Working closely with our customers assures their memorial service is everything they hope it will be and within a budget that suits the family.
In closing I would like to state that Sea Services will be serving the needs of families coast to coast for many years to come. Our reputation is unsurpassed in the industry, and our professional associations keep us informed and up to date on current trends, standards and practices.
Sincerely,
Gus Hald
Operating Manager
